Extension of Docrates Cancer Center completed – Service offering becomes even more diverse

Spanning more than 800 square metres, the extension was completed within the planned schedule. The extension was designed to provide more space, especially for early-stage diagnostic services, endoscopy services related to colorectal, oesophageal and stomach cancers and pathology functions. Also the facilities for mammography were renovated and a new separate room for gynecologist appointments was built.
‒ We are pleased to have the opportunity to offer new services to our customer base. We want to develop our early-stage service path in an even more versatile direction for our pre-diagnosis cancer patients. We also want to offer endoscopy services to, for example, those with a history of colorectal cancer or those having follow-up appointments for colorectal cancer. Our goal is also to accelerate the treatment path of breast cancer patients even further with our own pathology laboratory. We decided to centralise our targeted services for breast cancer patients in the C area, says Heli Littunen, Director of Services from Docrates Cancer Center.
With the new services, Docrates is also expanding its pool of professionals, including a gastrointestinal surgeon, a pathologist and bioanalysts. The new expertise also supports the work of the oncology team.
New facilities for physiotherapy and dermatology as well
Procedural facilities for a dermatologist and versatile facilities for physiotherapists have also been completed on the new floor.
‒ We have welcomed in our team an experienced dermatologist Anne Keinonen who has 15 years of experience in treating skin cancers. She performs procedures and removes skin lesions in our new procedural facilities. We are pleased to be able to offer a wider range of dermatologist expertise and services than before in support of our other services. The facilities designed for physiotherapy also facilitate the work of our experienced physiotherapists. Our physiotherapists will also be happy to offer their services to customers other than cancer patients, says Heli Littunen.
