I am a specialist in gynaecology, obstetrics and gynaecological oncology. I have extensive experience in the treatment of women with gynaecological disorders. My special expertise includes the pharmacological and surgical treatment of gynaecological cancers and their precursors, as well as post-treatment follow-up. I welcome patients of all cancer stages as well as patients suspecting they may have cancer. I also treat the more benign gynaecological disorders of cancer patients. Scientific activities
I did research on molecular biology and prepared my doctoral thesis at the University of Oulu. At the University of Tampere, I have worked on clinical research related to various gynaecological diseases and their treatment. These days, I mostly do research on ovarian cancer, its prognostic factors and the development of drug resistance, and look for solutions for improved recurrence detection. I am involved in several clinical trials for gynaecological cancers.
