Samuli Nissinen

Specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology

I have 20 years of experience in treating various symptoms related to internal disorders and gastroenterology. These days, I particularly work with gastrointestinal endoscopy. I specialise in colorectal cancer prevention and early diagnostics. In a typical colonoscopy, I look for the cause of the patient’s symptoms and examine the intestines for early-stage growths of tissue, or polyps. I carefully remove any abnormal growths, giving my patient the best chance of avoiding colorectal cancer. In my endoscopy work, I use the quality control program Scopia.app to prove the quality of my work and the patient experience.

I see and treat each of my patients as an individual. I want to offer people the best treatment in every scenario.

Welcome to my practice!

Biography

I have more than 20 years of experience as a physician. I spent more than 10 years of my career at Kuopio University Hospital and its surroundings. When it comes to internal medicine and gastroenterology, I have always been fascinated by everything that they entail. In recent years, however, the most important focus in my work has been endoscopy and, especially, colorectal cancer screening.

I am an active educator, especially in relation to high-quality intestinal endoscopy. While volunteering in my area of specialty, I have actively led the preparation of new treatment recommendations and organised training for specialists.

I work in Kanta-Häme and I’m in charge of colorectal cancer screening. I work as an operational manager and medical specialist at Suomen Gastroenterologipalvelut Oy. I am a founding member of Scopia Oy, serving as a medical specialist.

I spend most of my free time with my family and children. I am passionate about sports and I exercise whenever I have the opportunity. Skiing and cycling are my favourite sports. At home, I relax by working in the garden. I’d say that it’s one of the best activities in the world.
