Step 1. Booking an appointment

At Docrates, appointments can be booked by phone or through the MyDocrates online booking.

Our experienced nurses will book you an appointment with the right specialist and provide you with information about examinations and treatment. Our friendly personnel understand that cancer can provoke a variety of fears and concerns and they are here to support you right from our first contact.

Online booking via MyDocrates

You can also book an appointment with a cancer specialist, for mammograms and other health and recovery services such as physical therapy online via MyDocrates. If you live abroad (another country than Finland) , you can also use the MyDocrates online service, but the options available through the service are currently limited.

Other services, such as cancer imaging services, can currently only be booked by phone via our appointment booking service on tel. +358 10 773 2010.

If you cannot find a suitable time in our online service, please call us on our appointment booking number and our nurses will find and book a suitable time for you.

Cancellation Policy

We arrange doctor’s appointments and examinations for our clients quickly and flexibly. To ensure this, it is important for us that you cancel your appointment if for some reason you are unable to attend. The reservation can be canceled via customer service by phone on +358 010 773 2010. If you have booked an appointment through our online appointment booking, you can also cancel the appointment at the online appointment reservation service. The booked time must be canceled no later than 24 hours before its start. For non-cancellable or canceled less than 24 hours, we will have to charge the full price. The cancellation policy applies to all forms of reception. Clinic fee will be charged when canceling a confirmed booking.

Step 2. Learn about Insurance and EU’s Planned Medical Treatment Abroad

At Docrates Cancer Center patient´s insurance company can cover treatment costs. We cooperate with insurance companies worldwide.

If you have private insurance, please contact us and we will provide your insurance company with the needed documents, cost estimate and will help you with all arrangements.

Please note that the processing time of the payment bond varies depending on the insurance company. Before examinations and treatments, make sure that your insurance company has approved the payment bond. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the instructions for insurance companies and contact your insurance company at an early stage.

EU countries: Planned medical treatment abroad

In certain circumstances, under EU law you have the right to arrange medical treatment, such as consultation with a specialist, surgery or treatment for a specific condition including cancer treatments, in other EU countries. Learn more www.europa.eu.

Step 3. Prepare for your arrival at Docrates

When you make an appointment, our nurse will instruct you on the information and documents we need, so that your first visit to our hospital goes smoothly, and the doctor has time to familiarize himself with your situation in advance. Check out the written instructions here first.

Bring a loved one with you. If you want, you can bring a loved one with you for support, to participate in the conversation or even to take notes, or just to be there for you.

Transport connections. It is easy to get to Helsinki from all over the world. The Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is only a 30 min drive away. Accommodation. Docrates Cancer Center has negotiated special rates for patients and their close ones at select hotels in Helsinki, situated close to the hospital.  You will find more information here: Accommodation

The costs and financial information. We treat each patient individually to achieve the best possible treatment results. When the individual treatment plan is ready, you will receive a written cost estimate if you so wish. Additional information about Docrates’ care fees and financing options can be obtained from your own coordinating nurse and on our website.

Integrity. The Docrates Privacy Plus service is available for our patients in situations requiring enhanced privacy. It enables special arrangements for arrivals at the hospital, security arrangements, and organising examinations and treatments anonymously, among other things.
